This project aims to redefine exhibitions and exhibition objects with light and shadows. In order to create this project, we need to thoroughly understand Rabbit Hole and the Wonderland it should create.
The selected area is the METU Faculty of Architecture exhibition area. There are projects and posters placed in the exhibition. These projects are usually changed at the beginning of the term or project. The spotlights aim to make us understand the exhibition better by shining on the exhibition objects. In this way, we get the best
possible efficiency from an exhibition.
What if we wanted to experience the exhibition from a different perspective by looking at the space rather than the exhibition objects? For this, it is possible to understand by looking at the nature of light and especially its shadow. The position of the light, the position of the objects and surfaces play an important role in shadow formation.
When we consider these reasons, it is inevitable that this area will create a Wonderland. Because developing our experience from different perspectives is one of the aims of Wonderland.
At T:0, our exhibition objects and surfaces (Concrete, Marble and Posters) are just standing there. Because space is dark and we need light to see the exhibition. When light enters the space, Wonderland emerges. The areas that hit the light and the areas that cast shadows interact with the environment according to the type of surface
and reveal Wonderland.
In this way, we begin to see our actual spaces and look at the exhibition from a new perspective with the shadows created by the lights.
